Going to work...

Five Dock on the way to Homebush Bay

In the beginning, Ron had a rental car and he drove us to work everyday. Later we took cabs, often going by a different route every day.

We drove through the western suburbs, a dense urban area where one town blends smoothly into the next. This is Five Dock, one of the communities we often went through.

There are few freeways, and we often went through residential neighborhoods. Small brick homes with tile roofs like this were common.

Stadium Australia as seen from a grove behind the Heritage Cafe

The centerpiece of the Sydney Olympic facilities, Stadium Australia seats over 100,000.

In the heart of Olympic Park, it was also a familiar neighbor, as we lingered over morning coffee at the Heritage.
